About

I came up with the idea of putting this site together after reading a couple of posts made to the Bramley Google group I am a member of.
Each day I drive my daughter to school, I have to ‘dodge’ a number of potholes deep enough to cause damage to even the sturdiest of wheel trims.
A few of the more deeper potholes are situated on ‘blind bends’ and on quite a few occasions I have observed cars manoeuvring to avoid them and narrowly missing oncoming traffic.

I have reported these to Hampshire Highways on a number of occasions but the response can be extremely slow.

After the worst snow in many years, the “freeze/thaw” that one associates with this kind of bad weather, has meant even more potholes have appeared.
When you couple this with the damage caused by the construction traffic that has been passing through Bramley over the past year or so, many villagers and not just myself are becoming more frustrated with the speed at which our local roads are being repaired.

This web site is merely intended to provide a method for the villagers of Bramley, Hants to report and follow the repair progress of the many potholes that already exist, and any new ones that may appear in the future.

This site is not a direct moan at Hampshire Highways. I am the first person to admit they do a difficult job with limited resources.
A recent announcement of extra funding to be made available should mean that we start seeing action on our local roads, and I for one want to make sure it happens. That was my main motive for creating this site.

I would still advise anyone finding a pothole to report it via the proper channel, but would ask that you send me the details as well.

Residents can report faults through the County Council’s contact centre Hantsdirect – 0845 603 5633 or via the website.  These reports are then followed up through special inspections.

To report to this site, you can use the report new pothole link on the menu tab above.
